EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR therapy allows the brain to resume its natural healing process by accessing memory networks through eye movement, or other forms of bilateral stimulation. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies. YOGA
“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured, and to endure what cannot be cured.” BKS Iyengar
Research demonstrates that Yoga is a valuable adjunctive treatment to therapy. In honoring the personal nature of healing, I integrate Yoga philosophy, breath techniques, meditation, and movement as part of the client’s EMDR processing. Beyond what is available to be accessed and process through EMDR therapy, I offer personalized, trauma-informed Yoga sessions to enhance the effects of EMDR therapy and integrate body and mind practices. I also offer trauma-informed group Yoga series that center around compassion, restoration, and healing.
ECOLOGICAL GRIEF SUPPORT
I offer small ecological grief support groups that meet for 1.5 hrs weekly for 10 weeks to process and receive support for our collective sense of loss. My work is rooted in the understanding that humans depend on each other and our natural world for inspiration, support, and survival. By gathering in community, we become more resilient and more connected to ourselves and the natural world around us. Through radical honesty and deep vulnerability, we show up and lean into difficult conversations, trusting that our community is strong enough to bear our collective grief. We welcome ourselves and others to show up authentically, trusting in each other’s compassion and humanity. Freedom is found by examining our privilege and decolonizing our hearts, minds, and habits.
